The Humane Society of Jackson County’s My Furry Valentine online silent auction has begun and will run until 3 p.m. on February 27.
New articles will be added as they are received online at biddingowl.com/HumaneSocietyofJacksonCo.
Donations can also be mailed to Humane Society of Jackson County, PO Box 135, Seymour, IN 47274.
All proceeds will benefit The Humane Society, a private, nonprofit animal welfare organization that primarily serves the residents and animals of Jackson County through various programs.
The organization provides shelter and care for stray animals retrieved by Seymour’s animal control officer. Where space permits, it also provides shelter and care for cats and dogs in need of adoption. Additionally, the local Humane Society helps reunite lost and found pets with their families.
Unclaimed strays and unwanted animals that end up in the shelter are made available for adoption through an application process designed to match pets and families in such a way that the animal and family are likely to experience a life of love, health and happiness with another.
The rescue program saves the lives of many shelter animals who cannot find homes there. The shelter manager works with rescue groups throughout Indiana and beyond.
