WILLIAMSBURG – Heritage Humane Society (HHS) has announced several upcoming events.

HHS is currently hosting its Spring in Bloom online auction with a variety of unique items available for auction. With the help of the Heritage Humane Society Auxiliary, supporters can submit bids through April 28 at 6 p.m. EST. Items include gift cards, gift baskets and original artwork. All proceeds from the auction will be used to help homeless pets at HHS. To find out more or to bid, please click here.

Additionally, HHS announced that its Animal Camp will be held in separate weekly sessions over the course of five weeks beginning in June and continuing through August. This camp is available for students in grades one through three as well as students in grades four through six.

During camp, students will learn about responsibility, compassion, and animal awareness. There will be guest speakers, interactive presentations, crafts and games, all with a focus on animal welfare, biology and conservation. Additionally, campers will have the opportunity to engage with HHS animals as well as Fox Wire Farm Alpacas alpacas.

The camp will take place for students in grades one through three during three available camp dates. Each camp lasts a full week and will take place Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The dates of these camps are: June 13-17, June 20-24 and July 25-29. Tuition for this camp is $250 per week and students will receive an exclusive animal camp t-shirt, daily snacks, crafts, games, and Friday pizza night.

Camp dates for grades four through six will take place over two separate weeks, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The dates are: July 11-15 and August 15-19. Tuition for this camp is $350 per registered week and will include an exclusive animal camp t-shirt, morning and afternoon snacks, crafts, games, and Friday pizza night for wrap up the fun week.

HHS is also asking the public’s opinion on the nomination of nine puppies. The puppies’ mother, Sky, 2, was in the care of HHS during her pregnancy. She then gave birth to five boys and four girls. HHS is asking supporters, with a donation, to suggest a name for the puppies. The more a donor donates, the more name suggestions they can submit. All donations will help provide food, vaccines, neutering surgeries and more, not only for the puppies, but also for Sky. There will be a Facebook raffle on April 27. Finally, mark your calendars for Friday, September 16. HHS will host *Make Par for Pets Golf Classic at Kingsmill Resort. The day will be filled with golf, food, beer and contest holes. Registration includes green fee, golf cart, use of the shooting range, continental breakfast, buffet lunch and complimentary draft beer. Those who register will play The Plantation Course or The River Course at the resort. Registration is $150 for an individual and $550 for four players.
