The Lincoln Police Department identified the man who died Thursday in a structural collapse.

LINCOLN, Neb. — The Lincoln Police Department has identified the man who died Thursday in a structural collapse.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue said Kevin Clements, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene in a structural collapse that occurred around 1:10 p.m. on June 30.

LFR said that along with LPD, they were sent to the 2700 block of Manse Avenue for the report.

Authorities said arriving emergency personnel discovered a large tree branch had snapped from a tree, falling onto the roof and brick chimney of a residence.

The branch and chimney then fell and struck Clements who was on the downstairs veranda.

Clements succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

LFR and LPD said they would like to offer their condolences to Clement’s family and friends.

They also said they would like to ask the public to respect the family’s privacy as they mourn the loss of a loved one.
